Typical Driveway Alert Installation:

Driveway Alerts consist of a detector installed underground along the edge of the driveway at the point of desired detection and a controller installed in the home which activates a sounding device.  The detector is installed far enough up the driveway to avoid false alarms from passing vehicles on the main road and from vehicles making a turn around.

The detector has a range of eight feet and can be located up to 5000' from controller.  The system is also immune to false alarms from animals since it works on the concept of detecting changes in the magnetic field  which are caused by ferrous metallic objects.
